Plant Optimisation/ Performance Project Engineer – Power Generation
£35-45,000 + Car Allowance, 15% Bonus and Pension
West Midlands with regular travel

We are currently seeking to recruit a Plant Optimisation / Performance Engineer to take on various projects relating to the continual improvement of plant across various CHP power stations in the UK.

Reporting to the Projects Team Manager the Plant Optimisation/ Performance Engineer will be responsible for supporting new and existing plant improvement projects by monitoring plant performance, identifying potential plant improvements, proposing effective solutions/ plant modifications followed by developing and implementing improvement strategies. You may then be required to present your findings to senior management, stakeholders and sponsors. Once plant improvements have been authorised the Plant Optimisation/ Performance Engineer will be charged with overseeing the delivery of these operations and performance related projects.

This is a challenging role that would require regular travel to various cogeneration sites around the UK and will include occasionally spending periods of time away from home. This is a technical role and would require a degree qualified engineer with a mechanical bias and a “hands-on” engineering background in the Power Generation sectors and an understanding of Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, CCGT’s (Combined Cycle Gas Turbines) Power Stations, CHP (Combined Heat and Power), thermodynamics and its related issues.

The Plant Optimisation/ Performance Engineer will receive a salary of £35-45,000pa (depending on experience) plus an excellent car allowance, pension scheme and up to 15% bonus among other benefits. The successful candidate may also be eligible for relocation assistance should it be required.
